What should I wear?
Some attenders dress casually and some dress up. You are welcome to come exactly as you are, so wear whatever you are most comfortable in.
What happens when I arrive?
When you arrive at the church, you can park in one of our guest parking spots either on the east or west side of the building. If you have children, it is best to park on the east side and come in the Kids building entrance. Our greeters will welcome you and help with checking in your children if needed. You can sit anywhere you like inside the Worship Center.
What is the service like?
We make important announcements and welcome everyone at the beginning. Our services include a time of blended praise and worship songs that lead up to a Biblical message from our Pastor. We read from the Christian Standard Version (CSV) of the Bible. Either before or after the message there is a special time for people to give their offerings to the church. As a guest, you are not expected to give any money. However, we would like to have a record of your attendance. We ask that you fill out the response card attached to the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate when it comes by. We will follow up with you and try to help you any way we can. If you would rather remain anonymous that is perfectly ok. Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer. After the service we always have staff down front. They would be happy to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
The service lasts about an hour and a half.
What is available for my children?
All our children’s workers are required to go through a background check and thorough training. We take the safety of your children very seriously.
Preschoolers (birth-Kindergarten) get checked in and attend services downstairs in our Kids Building.
Elementary students (1st-4th) grade get checked in upstairs in our Kids Building.
Preteens (5th-6th) have Life Group at 9AM upstairs in the Kids Building (Treetop Theater). During 10:30 they attend the worship service with you in the main worship center.
Greeters will help register your children and give them a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special requirements during the check-in time. At the end of the service, simply show your parent pick-up tag to the teacher in your child’s classroom and your child will be released to you.
Students, grade 7-12, meet in the Student Center at 9:00 for breakfast and then break out into age specific Bible study groups. All students attend the Worship service with the adults at 10:30 in the Worship Center.
Do you have small group Bible studies where I can grow and meet more people?
Yes, the best way to meet people and get connected at First Mansfield is by going to one of our Life Groups. We have Life Groups that meet for Bible study and fellowship on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am for all ages.
How can I get more information about the church and membership?
The next step to learn more about the church is to attend our Discover First class. Discover First meets once a quarter on campus after the Sunday service. Lunch is provided for your family and we have childcare available. Upcoming dates will be in the announcements and we will send out email reminders as the date is approaching. In Discover First, you’ll hear our story, the vision of our church, learn about our core beliefs, hear options on how to get connected, and find out how you can become a member.
