We believe in the power of prayer. Prayer is one of the most crucial ways we can support missions and our mission partnerships.
Pray for the people within your circle of influence that need the gospel
Pray for our missionary partners that are serving on the mission field
Pray for our mission teams going out to serve throughout the year
Pray for the harvest field and for more workers to go and make disciples
I thank God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel form the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Jesus told His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
We believe in giving generously of our financial resources to support missions locally, nationally, and globally. This happens two ways:
When you give a tithe to the Lord through FBC Mansfield, you join millions of other Southern Baptists in fulfilling the Great Commission of taking the good news of Jesus to a world in need of a Savior. We join our efforts with more than 40,000 Southern Baptist churches across the United States. With a global population topping 7 billion and a commission to share the gospel everywhere, we must enhance our cooperative efforts if we are going to fulfill Christ’s command.
World Missions Offering
In addition to the Cooperative Program, we encourage sacrificial giving to the World Missions Offering over and above the tithe. This chart shows how the money is allocated.
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We believe that disciples of Jesus are individuals that have an identity in Christ and also influence others for Christ. Our Lord commands us to go out into the world and be a witness for Him. In addition to prayer and sacrificial giving, we are committed to mobilize our people to go to our community and to all the nations to make disciples that make disciples.
