FM Kids is our ministry to children from Kindergarten through fourth grade. At FM Kids we exist to guide people to multiplying impact for Christ’s Kingdom. By that we mean that we want your wonderful children to be followers of Jesus who lovingly help others to also live for Christ. In order to make well-rounded disciples of Jesus we feel that these three environments are key:
A place to belong (Life Groups)
A place to worship (Kids Church)
A place to serve (Go Pods)
Starting in the Fall of 2019 we will host these environments in three time slots:
Belong - Sunday 9:00 AM - FM Life Groups (K-4th)
In Life Groups our kids will learn the Bible in chronological order, pray for one another, hold each other accountable to live for Jesus, enjoy fun crafts, games, and activities, and more. We will be utilizing the Christ-centered and engaging Gospel Project curriculum.
Worship - Sunday 10:30 AM - FM Kids Church (K-4th)
Kids Church is designed to model an adult worship service but at a kid-friendly learning level and style. In large group there are engaging worship songs with motions, a time for prayers, an offering, Bible teaching, missions videos, time for kids to answer questions, and prize opportunities. In small group your kids will enjoy games, memory verse activities, review questions, and more. Teachers will be sharing lessons from the Gospel Project curriculum.
Kids Church resumes on August 18th. In the meantime, we provide activity sheets for your child to complete during the worship sermon. We also provide a Family Room to view the sermon from, if desired.
Serve - Sunday 4:30 PM - FM Go Pods (K-4th)
In FM Go Pods your children will be given numerous opportunities to serve their community. Each week they will do something kind for others, such as make thank you cards for police officers, firefighters, parents, or teachers. Then once a month they will be able to go out into the community to serve. One example is visiting and serving senior citizens from our church who need help with yard work and other basic projects. Not only will they serve others, but they will also receive an education on missionaries and Christian missions. We hope this will inspire them to develop a passion for serving and sharing the gospel with others. During these afternoons they will also be taught theological concepts from our Lifelong Discipleship Plan. This plan is designed to give your child a well-rounded biblical education and to help them to develop a biblical worldview.
Other Discipleship Opportunities
Children’s Choir begins again in September and is open to all kids from age 4 through 6th grade. Our children’s choir is led by amazing volunteers who have a passion for teaching kids how to worship through music. Children will have multiple opportunities to sing worship songs during Sunday worship services and during Christmas and Easter services.
New Believers’ Classes
These are designed for kids (K-4th) who are interested in learning what it means to be a follower of Christ or who have recently given their lives to Christ. It teaches about salvation, the Gospel, discipleship, church, the Lord’s Supper, and baptism. We will work to use it as a prerequisite to baptism as a safety net for kids. This is a parent-child formatted class with activities for parents to do with their kids in and out of the classroom.
Growing Believers’ Classes
For 3rd-4th graders and will be field trip based with an important talk given on living faithfully for Jesus at some point during the time together.
